Browns have their eyes on these guys

Over the last few weeks, there have been many college players visiting with the Browns or having their workouts attended by Cleveland coaches. I accumulated a list of the players (thanks, PFT) that could be future Cleveland Browns at this weekend's NFL draft.

Quarterback
Kent State QB Julian Edelman
Michigan State quarterback Brian Hoyer
USC quarterback Mark Sanchez
West Virginia quarterback Pat White

Running Back
Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno

Wide Receiver
Rutgers wide receiver Kenny Britt
Penn State wide receiver Deon Butler
Texas Tech's wide receiver Michael Crabtree
University of Maryland wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey
Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin
University of Georgia wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi
Toledo wide receiver Nick Moore

Tight End
Cleveland State basketball player J’Nathan Bullock
Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew

Offensive Line
Alabama center Antoine Caldwell
Oregon State offensive tackle Andy Levitre
Oklahoma offensive guard Duke Robinson
Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith
Louisville center Eric Wood

Defensive Line
Northern Illinois defensive end/outside linebacker Larry English
Georgia Tech defensive end Michael Johnson
Temple defensive tackle Terrance Knighton
Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo
Northern Iowa defensive end Everette Pedescleaux
Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji
University of Richmond defensive end/outside linebacker Lawrence Sidbury

Linebacker
San Diego State linebacker Russell Allen
South Carolina inside linebacker Jasper Brinkley
Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry
Southern Cal linebacker Clay Matthews Jr.
USC linebacker Rey Maualuga
Western Illinois linebacker Jason Williams

Defensive Backs
University of Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis
Oklahoma safety Nic Harris
Oregon State cornerback Brandon Hughes
Ohio State defensive back Malcolm Jenkins
University of Utah cornerback Sean Smith
St. Paul’s (Va.) cornerback Greg Toler
Nicholls State cornerback Lardarius Webb
University of Tennessee cornerback DeAngelo Willingham

Looking at the list, you can see the Browns have been putting most of their attention on defense. With the Braylon Edwards trade speculation and the legal troubles of Donte Stallworth, we can also expect one of those wide receivers to be drafted. But there has been very little attention paid to the running back position.

Usually after the first round, I never know any of the players. But if the Browns trade up or down in the draft to acquire any of these guys, then you know they must have liked what they saw during the private workouts.
