Carolina +6 @ NYGiants
NYG. The G men open the new stadium in style. Manning does not cut open his forehead again but he does slice up the Carolina D.
Miami -3 @ Buffalo
MIA. This line should be way higher. Insert Ricky joke here.
Atlanta -1 @ Pittsburgh
ATL. Upset special. Or is it?? What does Dennis Dixon do? Its Matty Ice's game to lose.
Detroit + 6.5 @ Chicago
DET. Detroit keeps it close but Chicago pulls it out in the end.
Cincinnati +5 @ New England
CIN. High scoring and entertaining. Hopefully a few shots of Brady's wife. But NE doesn't have enough defense to hold up in the end.
Cleveland +3 @ Tampa Bay
CLE. Cleveland should be favored. Seriously. TB sucks.
Denver +3 @ Jacksonville
DEN. Tebow's homecoming will be successful. He will score not 1 but 2 TDs in a great start to his NFL career.
Indianapolis -1 @ Houston
HOU. Houston breaks out this year and wins the AFC South and it starts in Week 1 with a confidence building win.
Oakland +6 @ Tennessee
TEN. This is the year VY figures it out. Hopefully, at least if you are a Titans fan. But then again you still have CJ. They are just initials to me.
Green Bay -3 @ Philadelphia
GB. The Pack may win the Super Bowl this year.
San Fran -3 @ Seattle
SF. Seattle is pretty bad and San Fran will be in the playoffs this year. Not a good combo for the Pacific NW today. Then again, Alex Smith is the 49ers QB.
Arizona -3.5 @ St Louis
STL. Super Upset Special. Arizona lost too much this offseason. DA is most likely not the answer. Just a guess.
Dallas -3.5 @ Washington
WAS. Everyone loves Dallas but what have they really done. NOTHING. Give me McNabb and Shanny over Romo and especially Wade Phillips any day.
Baltimore +2 @ NY Jets
BAL. Ray Lewis is pissed. That scares me. And for the first time so does the Ravens' offense.
San Diego -4.5 @ Kansas City
KC. I like KC as an up and coming team this season. They catch the slow starting Chargers off guard and sneak out a win late.
AFC Division Winners - NE, BALT, HOU, KC
AFC Wild Cards - IND, CLEVELAND BABY!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO
NFC Division Winners - WAS, GB, NO, SF
NFC Wild Cards - MIN, DAL
Super Bowl - Green Bay over Baltimore

My week 1 picks
Carolina +6 @ NYGiants
Mike: NYG. Both the Panthers and the Giants will be going with something new this year. The Panthers go with a new quarterback, Matt Moore, who will need a year of seasoning. The Giants have a new stadium -- but the same staunch defense. Giants cover the spread and more in this home opener.
Miami -3 @ Buffalo
Mike: MIA. It's too early for weather to be a factor. Ronnie Brown will be a factor in the wildcat today as the Dolphins beat up on the hapless Bills.
Atlanta -1 @ Pittsburgh
Mike: ATL. Let the misery begin in the Stink City.
Detroit + 6.5 @ Chicago
Mike: DET. Watch out for the Lions this season. Playoffs? Little too early to be talking about that. But I think the Lions could manage a winning season as Matt Stafford grows as a leader of a promising offense.
Cincinnati +5 @ New England
Mike: CIN. Yeah, I'm going with Butch and Sundance in the season opener. Not sure if they'll win but they'll keep it close. The Patriots are getting older and won't breeze through the schedule as in years past.
Cleveland +3 @ Tampa Bay
Mike: CLE. Well of course the Browns are going to win this game. Kellen Winslow could be a beast for the Bucs but who's going to get him the ball? The Browns need to start with a win and an ugly win will count just as much. Low scoring game goes Browns way today.
Denver +3 @ Jacksonville
Mike: JAX. Denver's just out of ammo. Tebow's prayers won't be answered as MJD provides 200 combined yards in their home opener.
Indianapolis -1 @ Houston
Mike: IND. I don't understand why the Colts are only favored by a point. Am I missing something?
Oakland +6 @ Tennessee
Mike: TEN. The Raiders are still a hapless franchise while the Titans will be a playoff team this year.
Green Bay -3 @ Philadelphia
Mike: GB. Kevin Kolb begins his first season as a starter. But this game will belong to the more seasoned Aaron Rodgers. Packers win big to demoralize the Eagles.
San Fran -3 @ Seattle
Mike: SF. The 49ers will have a strong year while Seattle will struggle to win 5 games.
Arizona -3.5 @ St Louis
Mike: STL. Yes, the rookie quarterback and SJackson lead the Rams past the troubled Derek Anderson. I'm kinda rooting for DA but his same weaknesses will simply be revealed in Arizona just as they were in Cleveland.
Dallas -3.5 @ Washington
Mike: DAL. This morning at Krispy Kreme, I told a Redskins fan that I was rooting for them because I couldn't stand the Cowboys. The truth is, I don't really care for the Redskins either. It would be pretty funny to watch Dallas pummel the new look 'skins on the home field in the season opener. McNabb will be a non-factor this year.
Baltimore +2 @ NY Jets
Mike: BAL. You know how I feel about Baltimore but they have a strong team. Not only will they win the division but another Super Bowl appearance is likely. The Jets are overhyped and I'm looking forward to their failure.
San Diego -4.5 @ Kansas City
Mike: SD. A game that won't even be close. LT is gone but the Chargers running game won't miss a beat. Meanwhile, the Chiefs will be terrible.
